Connect Neo email to Sickle

Turn on Neo for other apps, then add your Neo mailbox to Sickle with its password — or an application password if you use two-factor.

Neo keeps a mailbox closed to mail apps until you switch access on in Neo's own settings. Do that once, then give Sickle your address, your password — or an application password if you use two-factor authentication — and Neo's server names.

Add the mailbox once, on the web or in the Mac app, and it shows up in both — and in every agent you have connected to Sickle.

Before you start

  • A Sickle account. If you do not have one yet, start a free trial.
  • Your full Neo address, such as [email protected], and its password.
  • A Neo plan that includes IMAP. All of Neo's paid plans do.

Turn on Neo for other apps

  1. Sign in to Neo webmail at app.neo.space and click the Settings icon.
  2. Choose Enable Neo on other apps.
  3. Click Enable Neo on other apps to confirm.

If Settings shows Configure 3rd party apps instead, access is already on.

If you use two-factor authentication

With two-factor authentication on, Neo refuses your normal password in mail apps. Create an application password for Sickle:

  1. In Neo webmail, open Settings → Preferences. Under Account & Security, open Security & Access.
  2. Under Two-Factor Authentication, click Manage, then verify with your password and a code from your authenticator app.
  3. Under Application Password, click Set up now, then Generate new password.
  4. Name it Sickle, click Generate password, then Copy. Neo shows it only once — keep the page open until Sickle has connected.

Neo's own instructions are in Enable Neo on other apps, Configure Neo on other apps and Application password for third-party clients.

Neo's server settings

  • IMAP server — imap0001.neo.space, port 993, SSL/TLS.
  • SMTP server — smtp0001.neo.space, port 465, SSL/TLS. The Mac app sends the mail you write through it, and so does your agent when you approve a send.

Connect on the web

  1. Sign in at sickle.app and open Mailboxes.
  2. Click Connect mailbox and choose Other.
  3. Enter your Neo address and password (or the application password). For IMAP server enter imap0001.neo.space and port 993; for SMTP server, smtp0001.neo.space and port 465.
  4. Click Connect. Sickle signs in to Neo to check everything before it saves; you see Checking… while it does.

Connect in the Mac app

  1. Click + at the bottom of the sidebar (Add mailbox). On first launch, the onboarding screen shows the same choices.
  2. Choose Manual authorisation (⌘7).
  3. Enter your Neo address. Under Inbox settings (IMAP), enter the password, imap0001.neo.space and port 993; under Outbox settings (SMTP), the same password with smtp0001.neo.space and port 465.
  4. Click Sign in.

Check it worked

The mailbox appears in the list on the Mailboxes page. If you have an agent connected, ask it "Which mailboxes can you see?" — the new one is there, with nothing to reconnect.

Troubleshooting

  • "Authentication failed" or "The mail server rejected these credentials". Check that Enable Neo on other apps is on, that you entered your full address, and — if you use two-factor authentication — that you used the application password, not your normal one.
  • "Could not reach the mail server". Check the server names: they include 0001 — imap0001.neo.space and smtp0001.neo.space — and the ports are 993 and 465.
  • It worked, then stopped. The application password was revoked or your password changed. Create a new one and enter it in the Can't sign in notice in the Mac app.

Disconnect

On the Mailboxes page, click Disconnect next to the mailbox. To cut Sickle off on Neo's side as well, revoke the Sickle application password under Security & Access → Two-Factor Authentication → Manage.

Next: connect your agent

Your Neo mailbox is ready for any agent you connect to Sickle. Pick yours: Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or OpenClaw.
